Imagine

Sit for a moment and imagine, anything. Think about something you really enjoy. Now imagine the feeling and other attributes associated with that thought.

Now imagine an unpleasant scene, your worst fear and the feelings that go with that experience.

It’s fair to say we can all imagine both of those scenarios with enough clarity to stir emotions, which is why I really don’t understand why so much in our news, socials , films, etc is represented in a way that suggests we no imagination. Images, news, they’re all presented as though they were pictures books for children but with adult contact.

I can imagine what a body that has been shot might look like, I don’t need the graphic details. I know what happens when two people have sex or man takes matters into his own hands, again I don’t need a graphic reminder.

It all feels quite unnecessary and laced with a worrying agenda to desensitise us to aspects of life that create a distraction. The more you see and normalise the less you question.

Imagine beautiful things- blue quote by Amma Gyan, founder of House of Amma - The Art of Living and Amanartis Gallery Watford and London, Ghana

Our imagination is pure joy when put to brilliant use. Acting on it is powerful and needs to be used wisely.

So many emotions can be experienced from wonder and our imagination. Anticipation, a subtle smell,  a sound, all create a picture in the mind.

I’ve alway had a vivid imagination and I know that’s not the same for everyone but I know we’re all capable of understanding expression through words and subtlety.

Take control of what you let into your heart and mind and don’t allow yourself to be desensitised to thought, your imagine is magic.
